CALIFORNIA PERSONAL INJURY ATTORNEY NOTES YET ANOTHER SERIOUS TRAGEDY CAUSED BY DRUNK DRIVER

This week the Orange County District Attorney’s office charge Lynette Ann Hunt, 31 of Fullerton for driving drunk and killing two of her friends.

Lynette’s two friends, Vanessa Herrada, 27 and Maria Zamarripa, 30 were celebrating Zamarripa’s 30th birthday at the California Girls Gentleman’s Club in Santa Ana last July. Court records state that Ms. Hunt’s blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit. Witnesses observed that the girls were weaving in and out of traffic on the 91 freeway and then all of the sudden accelerated quickly and changed several lanes to exit the freeway but instead flipped down the freeway embankment.

Herrada sustained massive personal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Zamarripa sustained severe internal injuries and died later at the University of California-Irvine Medical Center in Orange. Ironically, Ms. Hunt only suffered a broken clavicle and a few ribs.
Ms. Hunt not only lost two friends that night but is now facing a maximum of 13 years in state prison for two counts of vehicular manslaughter. In addition, she is facing one count for driving with a blood alcohol level of 0.08 and a count of driving under the influence and causing bodily injury.

Drunk driving causes terrible injury and grief to the loved ones and family members injured by such reckless conduct. Call an experienced personal injury attorney if you have been a victim of such conduct.
