Hemet: One Person Killed and Five Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident

Some time around 1:30 a.m. this morning, the driver of a pickup truck struck another truck carrying a family of five in Hemet. The driver’s passenger was ejected from the vehicle, while one person in the other truck was killed and four were seriously injured and air lifted to a nearby hospital. Authorities are looking for the driver, who fled the accident scene before they arrived. Ceres: Truck Hit Five Teenage Girls, Killing Danielle Tarancon-Leon

At about 9:00 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, February 9th, 45-year-old Larry Dale Duke lost control of his 1995 Chevrolet pickup truck near Mae Hensley Junior High School and jumped the curb on which five teenage girls were walking, killing 13-year-old Danielle Tarancon-Leon, a student at the school. Another girl was dragged underneath the truck. The group sustained serious to minor injuries. Witnesses reported that Duke ran a stop sign prior to the accident. Palm Springs: Thomas Coenen and Bernitarae Patron Injured in Head-On Collision

At around 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 30th, 62-year-old Thomas Coenen, of Desert Hot Springs, and his passenger, 59-year-old Bernitarae Patron, were injured in a head-on collision in Palm Springs. Newman: Patricia Carrillo Critically Injured in Head-On Collision

Shortly before noon on Tuesday, February 1st, 36-year-old Patricia Carrillo was critically injured in a head-on collision in Newman. The crash was triggered when 75-year-old Cesar Paiz attempted to leave the westbound lane of Hills Ferry Road to pass a vehicle in front of him and entered the oncoming traffic of the eastbound lane, striking Carrillo’s 2003 Toyota Rav4 SUV. Elk Grove: David Wayne Plumb Killed and Five Children Injured in Crash

Shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 29th, 2011, 30-year-old David Wayne Plumb, of Sacramento, was killed and his five child passengers injured when another driver traveling south in the northbound lanes of California State Route 99 in Elk Grove struck their van.
