Shortly before 5 a.m. on Thursday, April 6th, 51-year-old David Arthur Stover, of Fullerton, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Sun Valley. The collision occurred at the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Peoria Street when the driver of a Mitsubishi Eclipse struck Stover while making a left turn. Authorities are investigating the crash; however, they do not believe Stover was speeding, nor is there evidence that alcohol was a contributing factor.
“The police investigation into a fatal accident can take several weeks,” said California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis, “during which time the family of the victim may not have access to details about how their loved one died.”
In recent years, the incidence of motorcyclist fatalities has declined, with a 10.7 percent drop from 394 in 2009 to 352 in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. In 2009, Los Angeles County accounted for 80 of the fatalities and 2,709 of the injuries suffered by motorcyclists in the state and ranked 34th out of 58 counties of similar population size for motorcyclist safety.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis & Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of David Arthur Stover, the rider who was killed in the motorcycle accident yesterday.
The Orange County Register originally reported this Sun Valley crash.
