Moreno Valley: Vehicle Struck, Injured Pedestrian
At about 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, a vehicle struck and injured a pedestrian in Moreno Valley. The accident occurred near the intersection of Lasselle Street and Iris Avenue. Emergency responders transported the victim to a hospital to receive treatment for a broken leg. The accident is under investigation.
“When a motorist’s negligence causes an accident that injures a pedestrian, the motorist may be held liable for the expense of the pedestrian’s recovery,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.
In 2010, 31 pedestrians were killed or injured in traffic accidents in Moreno Valley, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. The OTS ranked Moreno Valley 43rd out of 53 cities with similarly sized populations for its incidence of fatal and injury pedestrian accidents that year; 1st place is the worst possible ranking.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the pedestrian who was struck and injured.
