Idyllwild: Motorcyclist Injured in Collision with Truck
At about 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, a motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a truck in Idyllwild. The crash occurred on Little Thomas Mountain Road in Garner Valley near Highway 74. Emergency responders airlifted the rider to a hospital to receive treatment for leg injuries. Authorities are investigating the motorcycle accident.
“With less protecting them from the drivers with whom they share the road, motorcyclists are vulnerable to suffering serious injury in a collision,” explained California motorcycle accident lawyer James Ballidis. “If the rider was not responsible for the crash, then he or she may file a personal injury claim against the motorist in order to be compensated for recovery-related expenses.”
Throughout Riverside County, 538 motorcyclists were killed or injured in crashes that occurred in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. Riverside ranked 41st out of 58 California counties for its incidence of fatal and injury motorcycle accidents; 1st place is the worst possible ranking. Motorcyclist fatalities in California increased 15 percent from 352 in 2010 to 414 in 2011.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the motorcyclist who was injured in the collision with the truck.
