Palm Springs: Thomas Coenen and Bernitarae Patron Injured in Head-On Collision

By

At around 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 30th, 62-year-old Thomas Coenen, of Desert Hot Springs, and his passenger, 59-year-old Bernitarae Patron, were injured in a head-on collision in Palm Springs. The driver of a silver 1993 Saturn traveling north on North Indiana Canyon Drive swerved into the southbound lane, striking Coenen’s vehicle, and then fleeing the scene of the accident. Coenen and Patron were taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities have asked anyone with information about the crash to call (760) 772-8900, explains a California injury lawyer.

In 2009, the most recent year for which the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, NHTSA, has released accident statistics, a total of 24,474 vehicle occupants were killed and 2,011,000 injured in motor vehicle traffic accidents. Head-on collisions accounted for 9.8% of the fatalities and 4% of the injuries.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish Thomas Coenen and Bernitarae Patron a full recovery.
