Barstow: Head-On Collision Killed Jonell Eulalia Davis, Seriously Injured Chazarey Davis and Diore Trammell

By

At about 9:41 p.m. on Monday, April 30th, a head-on collision killed 24-year-old Jonell Eulalia Davis and seriously injured Chazarey Davis and Diore Trammell, both 23, in Barstow. While traveling northbound on Fort Irwin Road in a 2002 Pontiac, Chazarey turned into the oncoming traffic of the opposite lane near Kolath Road, crashing into a 1996 Honda, the impact sending the Pontiac off the road. Jonell was pronounced dead at the scene. Chazarey and Diore sustained major trauma and were transported to the hospital. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

“After a fatal accident, the formal investigation may take several weeks, which can be frustrating for family members seeking information about what happened to their loved one,” explained California personal injury attorney James Ballidis.

Barstow accounted for 3 of the 192 fatalities and 89 of the 10,983 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in crashes throughout San Bernardino County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, traffic accidents claimed the lives of 3,081 passenger vehicle occupants in California.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Jonell Eulalia Davis, the woman killed in the head-on collision last night. We would also like to wish a full recovery to Chazarey Davis and Diore Trammel, the two drivers who were injured in the crash.

The Press-Enterprise originally reported this fatal Barstow accident.
