Norco: Motorcyclist John N. Cupp Killed in Collision with Van

By

At about 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 19th, 64-year-old motorcyclist John N. Cupp was killed in a collision with a van in Norco. The crash occurred when a van turned left in front of Cupp at the intersection of River Road and Trail Street, causing him to broadside the vehicle. Paramedics transported him to Corona Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Witnesses, or anyone with information about this accident, are asked to contact the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at 951-955-2600.

“When a driver’s negligence results in a fatal collision, he or she may be liable for the cost of the victim’s medical treatment and recovery,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.

Norco accounted for none of the 31 fatalities and 5 of the 500 injuries suffered by motorcyclists in traffic collisions throughout Riverside County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, 394 motorcyclists lost their lives in accidents that occurred throughout the state.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of John N. Cupp, the motorcyclist who was killed in the collision with the van.

The Press-Enterprise originally reported this Norco crash.
