San Diego: Ramiro Aguilar and Female Passenger Killed, Motorcyclist Injured in Freeway Crash

By

At about 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 10th, 66-year-old Ramiro Aguilar and a female passenger were killed and a motorcyclist was injured in a crash on Interstate 805. While traveling northbound in a Toyota Matrix, Aguilar struck a Honda, the impact causing the Matrix to rollover. A Toyota pickup truck collided with the Matrix, and a motorcyclist crashed into one of the vehicles. The Honda occupants fled the scene of the accident.

“When an accident results in trauma or death, the negligent driver may be held liable for expenses associated with the victims’ injury or loss,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s statistical projection of the incidence of traffic fatalities that occurred in 2011 indicates that an estimated 32,310 people lost their lives, a decline of 1.7 percent from 2010, when 32,885 deaths were recorded. Unfortunately, traffic fatalities rose by 3.3 percent that year.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis & Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of Ramiro Aguilar and the female passenger who was killed in the freeway crash. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the motorcyclist who was injured.

U-T San Diego originally reported this fatal crash.
