San Jacinto: Head-On Collision Killed Steven Hyde Jr., Injured One

By

At about 2:38 p.m. on Monday, June 18th, a head-on collision killed Steven Hyde Jr. and injured another in San Jacinto. The crash, which involved two vehicles, occurred on the Ramona Expressway at Sanderson Avenue. There were no passengers in either vehicle. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.

“The official investigation into a fatal accident can take several weeks to complete,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis, “which can be frustrating for family members seeking information about their loved one.”

San Jacinto accounted for 3 of the 172 fatalities and 133 of the 10,963 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic crashes throughout Riverside County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, traffic fatalities decreased by 10.3 percent, from 3,434 to 3,081, the lowest level recorded since the federal government began tracking such information in 1975.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Steven Hyde Jr., the man killed in the head-on collision. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the person who was injured.

The Press-Enterprise originally reported this San Jacinto crash.
