Shortly before noon on Wednesday, June 20th, three people were injured in a car accident in Sun Valley. The crash occurred in the 9900 block of North Glenoaks Boulevard when a pickup truck rear-ended a car, the impact leaving a 19-year-old woman in grave condition and an 18-year-old man seriously injured. Paramedics transported them, along with a 53-year-old man, to a hospital to receive treatment. Authorities are investigating the collision.
“When a driver’s negligence results in an accident causing injury to others, the driver may be held liable for the cost of the victims’ recovery,” explained California car accident attorney James Ballidis.
Motor vehicle collisions claimed the lives of an estimated 32,310 people in 2011, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s statistical projection for that year. The number represents a 1.7 percent decrease in traffic deaths from 2010, when 32,885 fatalities were recorded. Such declines, however, were not consistent across the country, with traffic fatalities up 3.3 percent in California.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the three people who were injured in the car accident this afternoon.
