Lake Elsinore: Motorcyclist Injured in Collision on Ortega Highway

By

At about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30th, a motorcyclist was injured in a collision on Ortega Highway in Lake Elsinore. The crash, which involved another motorcyclist and a vehicle, occurred near Grand Avenue, the impact throwing the rider 30 feet off the highway. He suffered moderate trauma and was transported to a local hospital. Authorities are investigating the accident.

“With little protecting them from the drivers with whom they share the road, motorcyclists tend to be more susceptible to sustaining serious injuries in an accident,” explained California motorcycle injury lawyer James Ballidis. “In cases in which the crash was not their fault, they may seek compensation from the at-fault driver for the cost of their recovery.”

The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident statistics of cities with similar populations, giving those with poor records high scores, with 1st place being the worst. In 2010, the agency recorded 7 fatal and injury motorcycle crashes in Lake Elsinore, ranking the city 42nd out of 103 cities with populations ranging in size from 50,001 to 100,000 residents.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis & Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the motorcyclist who was injured in the collision on Ortega Highway.
