Watts: One Killed, One Injured in Car Accident

By

At about 7:35 p.m. on Saturday, July 14th, one person was killed and another was injured in a car accident in Watts. While traveling near the intersection of East 113th Street and Compton Avenue, a green Acura Integra rolled over, the impact causing a 32-year-old female occupant to suffer fatal trauma. Paramedics transported a 39-year-old male occupant to the hospital. Authorities are investigating the crash.

“The investigation into a fatal collision can take several weeks, during which time all of the details concerning the incident may not be available to the family of the victim, explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.

Throughout Los Angeles County, 72,010 people were killed or injured in traffic accidents in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. Compared to 57 other counties in the state, Los Angeles ranked 15th for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes that year. The OTS gives the highest rankings to the counties with the poorest safety records, and 1st place is the worst.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the woman who was killed in the car accident. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the man who was injured.
