Ontario: Rollover Crash Killed Marquell Bogan, Ervin McKinness, Dylan George, Jonathan Watson, and JaJuan Bennett

By

At about 1:41 a.m. on Sunday, September 2, a rollover crash killed 23-year-old Marquell Bogan, 21-year-old Ervin McKinness, 20-year-old Dylan George, 21-year-old Jonathan Watson, and 23-year-old JaJuan Bennett in Ontario. The single-vehicle accident occurred on Haven Avenue south of Creekside Drive. Authorities with the Ontario Police Department and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Division are investigating the fatal collision.

“Although the number of people killed on California roads and highways has been decreasing in recent years, it remains too high, with every death devastating a family,” explained local car accident attorney James Ballidis. “While a family may never fully recover from such a loss, state law does ensure that they may hold the negligent party liable and obtain compensation for damages suffered.”

Traffic collisions claimed the lives of or caused injury to 872 people in Ontario in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. That year, 86 of the fatal and injury collisions in the city occurred between the hours of 9 p.m. and 2:59 a.m., with the OTS ranking Ontario 6th out of 53 cities with similarly sized populations for nighttime traffic fatalities.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of Marquell Bogan, Ervin McKinness, Dylan George, Jonathan Watson, and JaJuan Bennett.

The Press-Enterprise originally reported this rollover crash.
