Ontario: Semi Struck, Killed Sergio Becerra on Interstate 60

By

At about 12:35 p.m. on Monday, September 10, a semi struck and killed 30-year-old Sergio Becerra, of Bell, on Interstate 60 in Ontario. Investigators believe that Becerra was changing a tire on the south shoulder of the eastbound side of the freeway when the 1992 white/GM tractor struck him. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

“After a fatal accident, the negligent driver may be held liable by the family of the victim for their loss through the wrongful death claims process,” explained California truck accident lawyer James Ballidis.

Ontario accounted for 16 of the 221 fatalities and 1,454 of the 11,764 injuries suffered in traffic accidents that occurred in San Bernardino County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Large trucks were involved in 24 of the fatal and 425 of the injury collisions that occurred in the county that year.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Sergio Becerra, the man who was struck and killed on Interstate 60.
