Perris: Corina Jara and Jose Martinez Jr. Killed in Head-On Collision

By

At about 6:42 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 44-year-old Corina Jara, of Lake Elsinore, and 32-year-old Jose Martinez Jr., of Nuevo, were killed in a head-on collision in Perris. Jara was traveling in an SUV that collided with the mini van Martinez was driving on Highway 74 west of Theda Street. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

“After a fatal crash, the auto insurer of the negligent driver may be legally obligated to compensate the family of the victim for their loss,” explained California car accident attorney James Ballidis.

Perris accounted for 6 of the 164 fatalities and 181 of the 10,594 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in crashes that occurred in Riverside County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Throughout the state, traffic fatalities decreased by 11.9 percent, from 3,081 in 2009 to 2,715.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of Corina Jara and Jose Martinez Jr., the two drivers who were killed in the head-on collision.
