Some time before 6:45 p.m. on Monday, November 26, a male pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run in San Jacinto. The accident occurred on Idyllwild Drive. Emergency responders transported the victim to an area hospital. Police are searching for the driver of a dark sedan. Witnesses, or anyone with information about the whereabouts of the driver, are asked to call 951-654-2702.
“It is always fortunate when authorities are able to locate a hit-and-run driver,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis, “as then the victim may pursue a personal injury claim against the driver for expenses associated with the recovery.”
San Jacinto accounted for none of the 31 fatalities and 7 of the 370 injuries suffered by pedestrians in accidents that occurred in Riverside County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Pedestrian fatalities in the state increased 5.4 percent, from 567 in 2009 to 599 in 2010.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the pedestrian who was injured in the hit-and-run.
