Burbank: Male Driver Killed in DUI Crash

By

Shortly before 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, December 2, a male driver was killed in a DUI crash in Burbank. While traveling in an SUV, 29-year-old Ivan Jesus Valle collided with a sedan in the intersection of Buena Vista Street and Alameda Avenue, the impact killing the driver of the sedan. Authorities arrested Valle on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.

“Impaired driving claims thousands of lives every year in the United States,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis. “Families who have lost loved ones in such accidents may pursue civil actions against the negligent parties in order to hold them liable.”

Throughout the country, alcohol-related crashes claimed the lives of 9,878 people in 2011, with 2,791 of the fatalities occurring in California, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In 2010, Burbank accounted for 30 of the 6,511 fatal and injury collisions that occurred in Los Angeles County in which alcohol was a contributing factor.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the male driver who was killed in the DUI crash.

The Los Angeles Daily News originally reported this Burbank collision.
