At about 2:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, a 45-year-old female passenger was killed in a rollover accident in Glendale. While traveling on the 134 Freeway, the sport utility vehicle in which she was an occupant overturned near the Pacific Avenue exit and slammed into a tree. Emergency responders transported the 45-year-old driver of the SUV to an area hospital for his injuries. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“When a passenger is killed in a crash, his or her family may hold the at-fault driver liable for their loss by filing a wrongful death claim,” explained California car accident attorney James Ballidis.
Glendale accounted for 1 of the 105 fatalities and 270 of the 20,620 injuries suffered by passengers in collisions that occurred in Los Angeles County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Statewide, traffic fatalities increased 2.6 percent, from 2,720 in 2010 to 2,791 in 2011.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the female passenger who was killed in the rollover accident.
