Green Acres: Pedestrian Thomas Fletcher Jr. Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

By

At about 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 65-year-old pedestrian Thomas Fletcher Jr. was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Green Acres. The driver of a silver vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 74 struck Fletcher as he traversed the road’s intersection with Highway 79. The CHP is investigating the accident and has requested that witnesses, or anyone with information, contact the Banning office at 951-769-2000.

“Apprehending the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident in many cases is crucial to the victim’s family’s ability to file a wrongful death claim and be compensated for their loss,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.

In Riverside County, traffic accidents claimed the lives of 31 pedestrians and injured another 370 in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Hit-and-run was a factor in 528 of the accidents that resulted in injury or death in the county that year.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Thomas Fletcher Jr.

The Press-Enterprise originally reported this Green Acres hit-and-run accident.

Additional information on the wrongful death claims process is available to the public free of charge though our office.
