Laguna Beach: Armando Garcia-Gonzalez and Alberto Casique-Salinas Killed in Collision with Tesla

By

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 38-year-old Armando Garcia-Gonzalez, of Santa Ana, and 47-year-old Alberto Casique-Salinas, of Anaheim, were killed in a head-on collision with a Tesla in Laguna Beach. While traveling northbound on Laguna Canyon Road, the driver of the Tesla swerved into the southbound lane between the 73 Toll Road and El Toro Road, colliding with their vehicle. Garcia-Gonzalez and Casique-Salinas were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Emergency responders transported the driver of the Tesla to an area hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries. Authorities are investigating the crash.

“When a family loses a member to a motor vehicle collision, they may file a wrongful death claim against the at-fault driver in order to hold him or her liable and to be compensated for their loss,” explained an auto accident lawyer in Orange County.

Laguna Beach accounted for none of the 71 fatalities and 156 of the 17,031 injuries suffered by motorists in crashes that occurred in Orange County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety ranked Orange County 26th out of the state’s 58 counties for its incidence of fatal and injury collisions in a ranking system in which 1st place is considered the worst.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of Armando Garcia-Gonzalez and Alberto Casique-Salinas, the two men who were killed in the collision with the Tesla.

The Orange County Register originally reported this Laguna Beach crash.
