Fresno: Raul Dominguez Solis and Jose Guadalupe Zermeno Killed, Five Injured in Crash

By

At about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 29-year-old Raul Dominguez Solis and 64-year-old Jose Guadalupe Zermeno were killed and five others were injured in a crash in Fresno. While traveling on Highway 99, the driver of a Ford Windstar lost control of the vehicle after the tread separated from the left rear tire, causing it to rollover. Solis and Zermeno sustained fatal trauma. Emergency responders transported five other occupants to hospitals to receive treatment for moderate injuries. Authorities are investigating the accident.

“When a motor vehicle accident results in death or injury, the victims or their surviving family members may file injury or wrongful death claims against the at-fault party in order to obtain compensation for expenses associated with their recoveries or losses,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.

In 2010, 1,262 people were killed or injured in crashes that occurred in Fresno, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. The OTS compares the collision statistics of cities with populations of a similar size; those with the worst records receive the highest rankings up to 1st place. That year, Fresno ranked 13th out of 13 cities for traffic safety.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the families of Raul Dominguez Solis and Jose Guadalupe Zermeno. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the five people who were injured.

U-T San Diego originally reported this Fresno accident.
