Vacaville: Davis Man Seriously Injured in DUI Crash

By

At about 5:24 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, a 54-year-old Davis man was seriously injured in a DUI crash in Vacaville. While traveling on Leisure Town Road in a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro, 22-year-old De Sean Dennis collided with a 1997 Dodge Neon near Purple Martin Drive. Firefighters extricated the driver of the Dodge, and he was airlifted to the hospital to receive treatment for major trauma. Dennis was also transported to an area hospital. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of felony DUI. The accident is under investigation.

“When a motorist is injured in a collision with an intoxicated driver, he or she may file a civil claim against the driver in order to receive compensation for recovery-related expenses,” explained California car accident attorney James Ballidis, “such as for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”

In 2010, 161 people were killed or injured in crashes that occurred in Vacaville, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. Alcohol was a contributing factor to 161 of the fatal and injury collisions that occurred in the city that year, with the OTS ranking Vacaville 75th out of 103 similarly sized cities for its incidence of such accidents.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the Davis man who was injured in the DUI crash.
