The collision, which involved a Toyota Corolla and a Jeep Cherokee, occurred near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Jefferson Street. The crash is under investigation.
“California law ensures that those who have been injured in a car accident have recourse through the civil justice system,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis. “In many cases, the victims will seek compensation for the expense of their recoveries through the personal injury claims process.”
Traffic accidents claimed the lives of or caused injury to 226 people in Indio in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. Indio ranked 69th out of 103 cities with similarly sized populations for its incidence of fatal and injury collisions that year; 1st place is the worst possible ranking. Throughout the state, 2,720 people were killed in traffic accidents that year.
