Shortly before 6:40 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 7-year-old Jaden Joyner was killed and three people were seriously injured in a semi crash in San Bernardino. While traveling northbound on Interstate 15, a gray Nissan pickup truck collided with a semi truck south of Cleghorn Road. Joyner, an occupant of the Nissan, was flown to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Three other people suffered major trauma. The CHP is investigating the truck accident.
“After a fatal accident, the family of the victim may file a wrongful death claim against the party at-fault for the crash,” explained a California truck accident lawyer.
Throughout San Bernardino County, traffic accidents claimed the lives of 180 people and injured another 11,050 in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Large trucks were involved in 24 of the fatal and 425 of the injury accidents that occurred in the county that year.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Jaden Joyner, the girl who was killed in the semi crash. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the three people who were seriously injured.
