Desert Hot Springs: One Killed, One Injured in Rollover Accident

By

At about 8:44 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, one person was killed and another was injured in a rollover accident in Desert Hot Springs. The two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of North Indian Canyon Drive and 13th Avenue. One victim was declared dead at the scene. Emergency responders transported the other to an area hospital to receive treatment for moderate to major injuries. Authorities are investigating the accident.

“After a fatal rollover accident, the negligent driver may be held liable for expenses associated with the loss of life suffered by the family of the victim,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis. “Those who were injured may pursue compensation for recovery-related expenses from the at-fault party.”

Desert Hot Springs accounted for none of the 164 fatalities and 59 of the 10,594 injuries suffered in car accidents that occurred in Riverside County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Riverside ranked 46th out of 58 counties for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes in a California Office of Traffic Safety rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the person who was killed in the rollover accident. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the person who was injured.
