Studio City: Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

By

At about 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, a male pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Studio City. The man was crossing Ventura Boulevard at Fairway Avenue when the white Mercedes hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are searching for the driver of the Mercedes.

“Locating the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run accident can prove crucial to the ability of the family of the victim to seek compensation for their loss through the civil justice system,” explained California pedestrian accident lawyer James Ballidis.

Throughout Los Angeles County, 198 pedestrians were killed and 4,786 were injured in traffic accidents in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Across California, the incidence of pedestrian fatalities increased 3.9 percent, from 601 in 2010 to 625 in 2011.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the pedestrian who was killed in the hit-and-run accident.
