At about 3:20 a.m. on Monday, September 2, 31-year-old Cyndy Martinez, of Hesperia, was killed in a rollover accident in Oak Hills, reported the Daily Press. While traveling northbound on Interstate 15, the driver of the 2011 four-door sedan Martinez was riding in lost control of the vehicle south of Highway 395, causing it to rollover multiple times. Paramedics pronounced Martinez dead at the scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Throughout San Bernardino County, traffic collisions claimed the lives of 180 people and caused injury to another 11,050 in 2010, with passengers accounting for 59 of the fatalities and 4,056 of the injuries, according to accident data from the California Office of Traffic Safety. Statewide, 2,720 people lost their lives in traffic collisions that year.
