Lucerne Valley: Vehicle Struck, Killed Danny Plotner

On the morning of Thursday, November 14, a vehicle struck and killed 65-year-old Danny Plotner in Lucerne Valley, reported the Daily Press. The accident occurred on Highway 18 near Custer Avenue. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. The accident is under investigation.

The California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System indicates that traffic accidents claimed the lives of 33 pedestrians and caused injury to another 409 in San Bernardino County in 2010. Pedestrian fatalities across the state increased 3.9 percent, from 601 in 2010 to 625 in 2011. The number of pedestrians aged 65 or older who were killed in accidents increased slightly from 150 in 2010 to 151 in 2011.
