Azusa: Car Accident Injured Two

At about 9:40 a.m. on Thursday, March 29th, a car accident injured two people in Azusa. The collision between a sport utility vehicle and a pickup truck occurred at the intersection of 6th Street and Azusa Avenue. Emergency responders airlifted the driver of the SUV, who sustained moderate trauma, to a hospital, while the driver of the truck was transported via ambulance. Authorities are investigating the crash.

“In California, when motorists suffer trauma in a collision, the at-fault driver may be held responsible for expenses related to the other party’s injuries,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis, “such as medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”

Azusa accounted for 3 of the 390 fatalities and 303 of the 64,178 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic accidents in Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident statistics of cities with similarly sized populations, giving those with the poorest records the highest rankings, with 1st place considered the worst. In 2010, Azusa ranked 14th out of 93 cities.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the two people who were injured in the car accident this morning.

The San Gabriel Valley Tribune originally reported this Azusa collision.
