Shortly after 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 15th, a passenger in a Ford Mustang was killed in a car accident in Chino. While turning left from Schaefer Avenue, the 2002 Ford Mustang 21-year-old Edwin Victor was driving was broadsided by a 2004 Acura TSX driven by 25-year-old Cornelles Aldi of Chino Hills. A passenger in the Mustang, 37-year-old Asdrubal Tiscareno, succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital that night. Authorities are investigating the crash.
“The investigation into a fatal collision can take several weeks,” explained California personal injury attorney James Ballidis, “in many cases preventing the family of the victim from immediately learning details about the accident.”
Chino accounted for 3 of the 192 fatalities and 529 of the 10,983 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in traffic accidents in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety compares the accident statistics of cities with similarly sized populations, giving those with the poorest records the highest rankings; 1st place is considered the worst. In 2010, Chino ranked 11th out of 103 cities for fatal and injury accidents.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Asdrubal Tiscareno, the passenger who was killed in the car accident yesterday.
