Glendora: Passengers Luis Hernandez, Jason Dominguez, and Kevin Padilla Injured in Crash

At about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, four people were injured in a crash near Glendora. While traveling southbound on Glendora Mountain Road, 19-year-old Carlos Avila lost control of his Nissan Sentra while negotiating a curve near Big Dalton Road, causing the vehicle to leave the road and fall 250 feet down the side of the mountain. Three passengers-19-year-old Kevin Padilla, 21-year-old Luis Hernandez, and 22-year-old Jason Dominguez-suffered trauma ranging from minor to moderate. Avila also sustained minor injuries. They were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

“When passengers are injured in a collision, they may hold the at-fault driver liable for the expense of their recoveries,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis, “such as for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”

Glendora accounted for none of the 346 fatalities and 254 of the 62,881 injuries suffered by motor vehicle occupants in crashes that occurred in Los Angeles County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Glendora ranked 42nd out of 103 cities of a similar size for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes in a California Office of Traffic Safety rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to Luis Hernandez, Jason Dominguez, and Kevin Padilla, the passengers who were injured in the crash this morning. We would also like to wish a full recovery to Carlos Avila.

The Los Angeles Times originally reported this Glendora accident.
