At about 6:10 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 44-year-old Timothy Wayne Evans, of Barstow, was killed and a 30-year-old man from Apple Valley was injured in a crash in Hinkley. While traveling westbound on Santa Fe Avenue in a 1997 Honda Civic, Evans collided head-on with the 1999 Toyota Camry the man was driving. Evans was flown to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries that night. Emergency responders transported the driver of the Toyota to another hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“When a motor vehicle accident results in injury or death, the victims or their families have recourse through the civil justice system,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis. “Those who were injured may obtain compensation for the cost of their recoveries, and the family of those who did not survive the accident may seek compensation for their loss.”
In 2010, 180 people were killed and another 11,050 were injured in traffic accidents that occurred in San Bernardino County, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The OTS ranked San Bernardino 36th out of 58 counties for the number of accidents resulting in injury or death that occurred there that year.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis & Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of Timothy Wayne Evans. We would also like to wish a full recovery to the man who was injured.
