Shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, a vehicle struck and killed 74-year-old pedestrian John Page Jr. in Moreno Valley. The crash occurred near the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Indian Street. Page sustained major trauma and was declared dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“After a fatal accident, the family of the victim may pursue a wrongful death claim against the negligent party to obtain compensation for expenses associated with their loss,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis.
Moreno Valley accounted for none of the 31 fatalities and 32 of the 370 injuries suffered by pedestrians in traffic accidents that occurred in Riverside County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Fifty-nine of the fatal and injury crashes in the city that year occurred between 9 p.m. and 2:59 a.m.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of John Page Jr., the pedestrian who was struck and killed.
