At about 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, November 18, a driver made an illegal U-turn that caused an accident that injured a motorcyclist in North Hollywood. The accident occurred at 11836 Magnolia Boulevard. Emergency responders transported the rider to an area hospital to receive treatment for serious trauma. Authorities are investigating the accident.

“When a motorist’s negligence causes an accident that seriously harms others, the victims may seek compensation from the driver through the personal injury claims process,” explained California motorcycle accident lawyer James Ballidis.

In Los Angeles County, traffic accidents claimed the lives of 71 motorcyclists and injured another 2,657 in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Los Angeles ranked 34th out of 58 counties in the state for its incidence of fatal and injury motorcycle collisions in a California Office of Traffic Safety ranking system in which 1st place is the worst.
