At about 2:14 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, one person was killed and four were injured in a rollover crash in North Hollywood. While traveling southbound near the intersection of Lankershim Boulevard and Vineland Avenue, a motorist struck a northbound SUV, the impact causing it to rollover and collide with another vehicle. The driver of the SUV died at the scene. Emergency responders transported two men and two women to area hospitals. Authorities are investigating the crash.
“In the event of an auto accident resulting in injury or death, the at-fault party may be held liable for the expenses associated with the victims’ recoveries or their families’ losses,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Throughout Los Angeles County, 72,010 people were killed or injured in traffic accidents in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. The OTS ranked Los Angeles 15th out of 58 counties for its incidence of fatal and injury collisions in a rating system in which 1st place is considered the worst. Statewide, 2,720 people were killed in traffic accidents that year.
