At around midnight on Tuesday, August 7, two passengers were injured in a DUI rollover accident in Palm Desert. While turning from Country Club Drive onto Monterey Avenue, 25-year-old Christopher Robert Reynoso struck a curb, causing his vehicle to roll over. Paramedics transported two passengers to a local hospital after the accident. Authorities arrested Reynoso on suspicion of drunk driving.
“Causing injury to others while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs has serious consequences in California,” explained car accident lawyer James Ballidis, “including criminal charges and civil lawsuits.”
Palm Desert accounted for none of the 52 fatalities and 81 of the 3,620 injuries suffered by passengers in motor vehicle collisions that occurred in Riverside County in 2009, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. Throughout the state, crashes involving a driver or motorcycle rider with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 grams per deciliter or greater decreased by 14.4 percent from 924 in 2009 to 791 in 2010.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the two passengers who were injured in the DUI rollover accident.
