Ramona: Family Injured in DUI Crash

By

On the night of Thursday, September 27, a family was injured in a DUI crash in Ramona. The driver of a pickup truck veered into opposing lanes of traffic near the intersection of Ramona Oaks and San Vincente Road, colliding head-on with the vehicle in which the family was riding. Emergency responders airlifted a mother and her 9-year-old daughter to Rady Children’s Hospital, while the father was flown to Sharp Memorial. The driver of the truck was taken to Palomar Hospital and faces charges for suspicion of driving under the influence.

“When an impaired driver causes an accident resulting in injury to others, the driver may be held liable for the expense of the victims’ recoveries,” explained California car accident attorney James Ballidis.

Throughout San Diego County, traffic collisions claimed the lives of 126 motor vehicle occupants and injured another 15,939 in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, alcohol contributed to 68 of the fatal and 1,534 of the injury crashes that occurred in the county.

All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the family who was injured in the DUI crash.
