At about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 26-year-old rider Jesse Arnold and 29-year-old pedestrian Shawn Christopher Arballo were killed in a motorcycle accident in San Diego County. While riding at over 100 MPH on Carmel Mountain Road, Arnold struck Arballo at the intersection with Carmel Mountain Road. Emergency responders declared both men dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the accident.
“After a fatal accident, authorities will conduct an investigation to determine which party was at-fault,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis, “after which point, the families of the victims may hold the negligent party liable for their loss.
In San Diego County, 24 motorcyclists were killed and 1,044 were injured in crashes in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. That year, traffic accidents claimed the lives of 55 pedestrians and injured another 938.
