“When a passenger is hurt in a collision, the negligent driver may be held liable for the expense of his or her recovery,” explained California personal injury lawyer James Ballidis, “such as for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.”
Traffic accidents claimed the lives of or caused injury to 11,417 people in Riverside County in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. That year, Riverside ranked 46th out of 58 counties in the state for its incidence of fatal and injury collisions. The OTS ranks counties with the poorest safety records the highest, with 1st place being the worst.
