Shortly after 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10, three people were injured in a seven-vehicle crash in Santa Clarita. The collision, which authorities indicated began with a hit-and-run, occurred on the northbound 5 Freeway north of Gavin Canyon near Calgrove Boulevard. The victims’ injuries ranged from minor to moderate. The accident is under investigation.
“When a crash results in trauma, the victims may file personal injury claims against the at-fault driver in order to obtain compensation for the cost of their recoveries,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Santa Clarita accounted for 4 of the 346 fatalities and 886 of the 62,881 injuries suffered by motorists in crashes that occurred in Los Angeles County in 2010, according to the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System. The California Office of Traffic Safety ranked Santa Clarita 25th out of 53 cities of a similar size for its incidence of fatal and injury crashes; 1st place is considered the worst.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the three people who were injured.
