Shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, four people were injured in a crash on the 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks. While traveling in a southbound lane, a minivan veered from the road at the 101 Freeway, crashing down an embankment and into a chain-link fence. Emergency responders transported two adults and two children to area hospitals to receive treatment for their injuries. Authorities are investigating the crash.
“When vehicle occupants suffer trauma in a crash, they may pursue compensation for the expenses associated with their recoveries by filing civil claims against the negligent driver,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Throughout Los Angeles County, 72,010 people were killed or injured in traffic accidents in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety. The OTS ranked Los Angeles 15th out of the state’s 58 counties for its incidence of fatal and injury collisions that year; 1st place is considered the worst.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the four people who were injured in the crash on the 405 Freeway.
