Shortly before 8 a.m. on Monday, July 15, a motorist struck and killed a woman in the Tierrasanta community of San Diego. The accident occurred in the 10000 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near De Portola Middle School. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the pedestrian accident.
“When a pedestrian suffers fatal trauma in a traffic accident, his or her family may file a wrongful death claim against the party at-fault for the accident in order to be compensated for their loss,” explained California pedestrian accident lawyer James Ballidis.
In 2010, 992 pedestrians were killed or injured in traffic accidents that occurred in San Diego County, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current crash statistics. The OTS compares the accident data of California’s 58 counties, giving those with the poorest records the highest rankings, with 1st place considered the worst. That year, San Diego ranked 11th for pedestrian safety.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis & Leslie would like to offer our condolences to the family of the women whom the vehicle struck and killed.
