Shortly after 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, a car accident injured nine people in Winchester. A passenger van collided head-on with a sport utility vehicle at the intersection of Highway 74 and Winchester Road. Emergency responders freed three people from the wreckage. Eight people were transported to area hospitals for injuries ranging from moderate to major. One person suffered trauma but declined medical treatment at the scene. The accident is under investigation.
“Those who are injured in motor vehicle collisions may file civil claims against the at-fault party in order to be compensated for the expense of their recoveries,” explained California car accident lawyer James Ballidis.
Throughout Riverside County, 11,417 people were killed or injured in crashes in 2010, according to the California Office of Traffic Safety’s most current records. The OTS ranked Riverside 46th out of 58 counties for its incidence of fatal and injury accidents that year; 1st place is the worst ranking possible. Statewide, 2,720 people were killed in collisions.
All of us at Allen, Flatt, Ballidis, and Leslie would like to wish a full recovery to the nine people who were injured in the car accident.
